USA
The hardest country for me to write about is my home country - the USA! I have lived here for the grand majority of my life (outside the 5 years I spent living in England as a child) and have visited almost half the US states. This country is probably the most diverse country I've ever been to. You could spend years traveling through it and never see it all.
Top Locations
New York City: The city that never sleeps. There's an endless list of things to do here, including see a Broadway Show, jetski next to the Statue of Liberty, stroll through Central Park, and more. Alex and I have lived here for 7 years and can't see ourselves living anywhere else.
Utah: For the iconic red rock scenery, visit Utah's Mighty Five national parks (Zion, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Arches).
Grand Canyon, Arizona: The sheer size of this magnificent canyon will blow your mind. It's well worth a visit and there are some great trails here worth hiking.
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming: One of the most unique national parks in the world, with erupting geysers and herds of bison roaming freely.
Alaska: For a chance to see bears, whales, glaciers, and more, head to Alaska.
Hawaii: Jagged cliffs, volcanoes, jungles, waterfalls, beaches, whales, sea turtles, manta rays, and more. Is there anything Hawaii doesn't have?
Las Vegas, Nevada: Even for those who don't consider themselves gamblers, it's worth a trip to Sin City at least once in your life. I've been 5 times in the past few years and can't get enough of Cirque du Soleil shows in particular.
California: There's so much to say about this magnificent state. Highlights include Big Sur (one of the best coastal drives in the world), Lake Tahoe, cities like San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and national parks like Yosemite.
Florida: Florida has a long list of gems that make it well worth a visit, including the Everglades, Florida Keys, Disney World, and Miami.
Nashville, Tennessee: The best place in the world for country music.
New Orleans, Louisiana: A city like no other with cultural influences from France, Africa, and the Caribbean, just to name a few. If you love jazz and Creole or Cajun food, or if you want to learn more about alligators and the antebellum South, this is the place to go.
